| Team Bio:
| Winner Winner Chicken Dinner – We are a strong team made of up competitive club players from across the Midwest (who loves everything about this tournament and dream of Chicken Dinners as early as January of each year). Our team has entered the Cool Hand Luke Egg Eating Contest twice now. We raised over $900 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and cheered on our teammate, who was a trooper, eating 20 eggs & helped us win the contest our first time! We did not win the contest last year, but our teammate ate 17 eggs….not bad. Last year was our 6th year playing together at Poultry Days. We have made it into the B pool the past 4 years and were just shy of taking home the B POOL Championship in a battle with I.U. 2 years ago. This year, we plan on bringing another strong team, and hope to make it to the A division on Sunday. In our 7th year as a team, we would be honored to continue the tradition of bringing a very competitive, fun, and spirited team as well. |
| Team History:
| WWCD (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner) originally formed when Mike Miller asked the Indianapolis Ultimate Community if 2 people would consider taking over his bid, as he was going to start playing with another fun team and wanted to pass the bid on. Mike Miller is the ONLY player to attend every Poultry Days, as the story is told. Myself and another Indianapolis player, Fergie, quickly volunteered 7 years ago for this amazing opportunity to continue a fantastic Indianapolis tradition. Over the years people move on for life’s challenges and obligations, but in the end, the core of our squad is Indianapolis based and we LOVE this tournament. We have amazing tradition, heart, and general love for the game, the chicken dinners, and the opportunity to lay it out when we can. We love the game, the community, the town, the rides, everything. We have a guy on our team, who is even older than me, named Niels Thompson and he has a Winnebago (old school) named the Mighty Mallard, that we load into every year and spend time catching up over a beer or two along the drive from Indy to Versailles and we work hard to assure Niels focuses on the road while we tell amazing stories and laugh the whole way there. We love it. We love the whole experience. We plan on bringing an even better team this year, and hope to make it to the semis or finals of the B division on Sunday. In our 7th year as a team, we would be honored to continue the tradition of bringing a very competitive, fun, and spirited team as well. Please give Winner Winner Chicken Dinner a chance to continue the amazing tradition of bringing a team that represents what Poultry Days is all about. Thanks. |
