| Team History:
| We are brand new! Some of us have played at poultry days with the Nashville Chicken Pasties over the years. That team has always been huge because it is the only bid our community typically gets. On a three year stretch, we made quarters twice--losing to the eventual champs; and semis once--losing to Canada. But we also brought 10 players or more who knew they wouldn't get to play on Sunday and probably in only one or two games on Saturday. The depth of spirit and skill in our community has grown to the point that we need to bring another team, not just some sideliners. This team is not just a poultry days team, but an experiment in getting frisbee players to commit. We are asking that players be at every practice in April and May then attend tournaments in June and early July. Then we are done. After that, we may reorganize to form a team for the series, but we will again ask players to evaluate their commitment before trying out. Eighteen players is plenty for a tournament and enough for a practice (as long as they all show up). That's going to be our roster limit and we'll play only with local players who can make week night practices. Local, local, local. We don't have plans to go to regionals and we don't want to be a regional team. We will embody the fun, spirit, and try-hard that makes ultimate great. |
