| Early in 2006, following decades of violence, leaders of warring clans from the Madison tundra and hills of Boulder met in Las Vegas in an attempt to broker a peace deal. The terms were left unsettled but the captains agreed to bring top representatives to a neutral site later in the year to work out a deal. In June of that year, the elected groups gathered in a small town in Ohio and ratified what would be known as the Treaty of Versailles. Details of the treaty are hazy, as nothing was written down and at the time, none of the founding members could be considered sober in any jurisdiction. For 2 days in June, those aforementioned clans and select mercenaries still gather in Poultry Days Park over cheap beer and chicken dinners to renew their pact and take a run at the title. |
