Team Bio: We are long time residents of The Hill (since 1990 I believe) in Heritage Park thus this year's name 'Kings of the Hill'. While technically not a 'Poultry' name, it is a 'Poultry Days' name, at least to the regulars. This year we are bringing a Huntsville based team that is worthy of a spot in this great tournament. Despite recent year's setbacks on the field of play, we have gathered for this year's adventure a solid group of very-veteran Huntsville players (including returning Dixie Chick Donovan Thomas), 10 year veterans, and some up and coming collegiate players from Huntsville to bring our a win-loss record back to par with our fun on the hill record. The combination of veteran disc skill and story telling (about duck races, drum circles, lightning storms, and smoke fields) combined with our fun younger crowd will once again as always be extremely compatable with the PD tournament director's goal of fun and competitive but mellow, with Respect being the number one thought at all times. Rex played with us last year and we've invited him to play again this year but as of this week he's holding his cards close so we'll see about that. Last year we didn't fare so well as the Brown Chicken Brown Cow pile but this year's edition promised to be more competitive than last year's team. Dale, I am a little late getting the bid in, but you have hopefully received my check by today or tomorrow (before April 1) so I hope our long standing participation in PD can carry a little weight to counterbalance the tardy registration. As you know we are always good spirited, we clean up our trash (the hill is completely trash free when we leave), and we put our picnic table back where it came from each and every year. We'll see you in a few weeks, Rusty
Team History: Authored by Rusty from Huntsville. Huntsville has brought a team to PD since 1984 or 1985, I can't remember which year anymore, but I was there. We have participated in PD under many names; Huntsville (84-85?), Barney and the Jets(89 - Ryder truck year), Dixie Chickens(91 - 05 or so), Shuttlecocks, DOTHA(Drunk on the hill again), Redneck Roosters, and several less memorable ones. We have had some good records (Dixie Chicks as 3 peat winners when it was still a HSV team (most of us didn't play on the 4th Dixie Chick winning team) as well as some not so good records. But we always carry the Poultry Days spirit in our hearts and minds.
